As Pelayo and Elisenda, presuming the old man to be a castaway, lock him away in a chicken coop, the town becomes captivated, sparking diverse interpretations about the nature of the captive "angel." Father Gonzaga, the local priest, harbors skepticism and seeks guidance from higher authorities, yet the news of the angel spreads rapidly, turning him into a spectacle rather than a supernatural being.
